Yes, Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival 2024 is on! The first visitors are walking in, enjoying a nice summer sun, beautiful decorations and of course great talents on stage during the talent contest. A lot of great stuff is coming up later today and this weekend, gonna be fun! O, there are some tickets left, grab 'em while you can!

We’re in full swing setting up the festival, the artists are tuning their banjos and fiddles, the trees at Noordplein are soaking up the delightful summer sun, and of course, you’re all eagerly anticipating the 12th edition of our festival.

Hooray! A jam-packed blog with new names, the schedule, and much more goodness.

Immediately to the important part: we are incredibly happy (and proud and excited) to announce that the Henhouse Prowlers are returning to our festival. Following a brilliant show in the pavilion at Pijnackerplein in 2022, these American virtuosos will now play among the trees at Noordplein! Additionally, Zwolle's star, Bertolf, is bringing a bunch of friends for his special bluegrass revue!

These are Samer, Sheraidy, Alara and Sedat from group 8 of the Prinses Julianaschool in North Rotterdam. They receive lessons every Thursday morning from musician Gijsbert Diteweg.

This year the Rotterdam Bluegrass Camp will be held for the first time. It is a brand new initiative that takes place on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 June. As a participant you will have the opportunity to follow exclusive master classes with renowned bluegrass musicians from the Netherlands and America for two days. The master classes are for both novice and experienced musicians. If you want to specialize on the banjo or guitar, or become better at polyphonic singing, then the Rotterdam Bluegrass Camp is definitely for you.

Will you be the next Billy Strings or Molly Tuttle? Are you eager to reveal your musical skills to the world and wow the audience with your talent? Register for the Great Rotterdam Bluegrass Talent Competition and have a chance to win a place in the line up of the Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival 2024.

We are extremely happy that Bertolf (after his fantastic show in 2023) is returning to the festival. This time he brings a group of talented friends for a special show. Which friends? That will remain a secret for a while...

Unfortunately, Bella White has developed a severe case of laryngitis and had to cancel all of her shows in the Netherlands. This is very sad, for you, and for Bella. We wish her a speedy recovery!

Fortunately, we were able to find a very nice replacement in the form of @cordovasband from Nashville

Travel via the nearest NS Station Rotterdam Noord, from there it is a short 20-minute walk to Noordplein. With the tram (line 4 or 8) you should count on a travel time of approximately 13 minutes.

We are proud to make a first announcement of bands scheduled to perform during Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival 2023! Della Mae, Michael Daves + Jacob Jolliff, Bella White, The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, Madalitso Band, Scott H. Biram and The Truffle Valley Boys are among the performers schedule to appear on Rotterdam’s North Square (‘Noordplein’) on June 23, 24 and 25.

As we’ve all noticed, life is getting increasingly expensive. As a result, it's become impossible to organize the festival without charging an entrance fee.

Last year was our biggest success yet! We celebrated our 10th Anniversary Edition with a record number of visitors. The result, though, is that it's become harder and harder to accommodate all of you lovely people at our stages, bars and side events on and around the Pijnackerplein.
