WinterGrass 2025: A Spectacular First Edition!
After a warm welcome speech by organizers Guido de Groot and Mario Dirks, Jesus Evil Highway had the honor of kicking off the festival. From that moment on, the atmosphere was electric! One unique feature of WinterGrass was that performances took place in three different rooms, one of which was completely acoustic. This allowed visitors to freely walk around and choose which band they wanted to see – a concept that was very well received.
Following the opening act, performances by Chop ’n Roll, Shiny Moonlit Boys, Rosine Bluegrass Family, and Them Peckin’ Boys kept the energy high, with each band taking the stage twice. Soon, the room was filled with dancing and singing bluegrass fans, and that infectious energy lasted all day.
The event wrapped up in style with final performances by Them Peckin’ Boys, Chop ’n Roll, and Rosine Bluegrass Family. While some visitors slowly made their way home, the die-hard bluegrass fans kept cheering until the very last note.

We’re already looking forward to the next edition, but first, of course, the Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival on July 4, 5, and 6 at Noordplein! ??
