Winner of The Best Singer-songwriter of the Netherlands, representative of our country at the Eurovision Song Contest and three times awarded with an Edison; we may assume Douwe Bob is well known to the general public. Not as widely known is that the singer-songwriter is a big fan of authentic country and bluegrass. It has been a long-time dream of his to play a live set with a proper bluegrass band. Since our house band Blue Grass Boogiemen is annually challenged to do a collaboration at Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival with another musician (in the past Dikke Dennis and Tim Knol, among others), in this case very quickly one and one made two. Mathematically that is, since musically this collaboration is of course much more than the sum of its parts.

While Douwe Bob may have an impressive resume, if there is a Dutch bluegrass band that is highly regarded even in the genre's country of origin, it is the Blue Grass Boogiemen from Utrecht. They embody the essence of the genre in The Netherlands, with a track record of more than 30 years, an extensive list of shows and an encyclopedic repertoire. Douwe Bob really couldn't have wished for a better backing band with these four homegrown geniuses. On the other hand, the Blue Grass Boogiemen acquire a magnificent front man for this occasion.
