In 2024, they were one of the standout favourites at Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival. To the delight of many, this whirlwind gang of Argentine birds of paradise returned in 2025 to joyfully put our festival grounds to the test once again. So the shock was immense when news reached Rotterdam that band member Pablo had suddenly passed away. What followed online was a flood of heartfelt responses, full of love, condolences and beautiful shared memories. But after the shock and sorrow, one thing also became clear: the show must go on.

The rest of the band soon realised that the best way to honour their beloved fiddle player and instigator was to pick up their instruments again. They turned the loss of Pablo into their greatest strength: hitting their audience head-on with their fiery musicality. And we are more than happy to give them our stage for exactly that.

Angry Zeta’s streetwise potpourri of punk, bluegrass, country and folk feels tailor-made for a Rotterdam crowd. Their DIY mentality, relentless drive and commitment, always at a full hundred percent, matches the Rotterdam attitude just as completely. This colourful procession of freeform folkies has stolen our hearts for good, and it feels absolutely right to welcome them back to Rotterdam for the third year in a row.
