Bluegrass originated in the south of the US, but the genre is also in more than excellent hands with Canadian-born Bella White. The talented singer-songwriter and gifted instrumentalist has only just passed twenty, but immediately made a big impression with her debut album 'Just Like Leaving'. In her songs about heartbreak and loneliness, an old soul lives, but a young heart also beats. She bends the traditional sound completely to her will and translates it into a contemporary variant. And then that fantastic voice, penetrating but with a subtle gasp. In their own words, The Stanley Brothers' polyphony has a major influence on its own vocal parts. She indeed proves to be an exemplary student, but she also brings up something completely new.
