Qua looks doet ze denken aan Katy Perry, maar vocaal gaat de Nieuw-Zeelandse Tami Neilson meer richting het spectrum van Beth Hart. Neilson laat zich niet graag in een hokje stoppen en zingt blues en country met evenveel overtuiging en kunde als rockabilly en alles ertussenin.

Op haar meest recente album SASSAFRASS! (2018) geeft ze met songs die uiteenlopen van vuige blues tot rythm-and-bluesstompers haar ongezouten mening over genderongelijkheid. Deze vrouw heeft een mening, een boodschap en een enorme stem waarmee ze die mee verkondigt.

Exterior wise she sort of resembles Katy Perry, but vocally New-Zealander Tami Neilson reminds us more of the likes of Beth Hart.  Neilson doesn’t like boxes and sings the blues and country as passionately and skillfully as rockabilly and everything in between. On her most recent record SASSAFRAS! (2018), she expresses how strongly she feels about gender inequality with songs that vary from dirty blues to r&b stompers. This woman has a message and a big voice to tell it with.
